Boston Bolts Announce Bruno Bonicontro as Northeast Academy Coordinator
BOSTON - The Boston Bolts announced Bruno Bonicontro as the Northeast Academy Coordinator (U11 & U12) on June 22, 2022. Following a great year as a head coach for the U11 and U12 Boston Bolts Northeast Academy teams, Bruno will oversee all aspects of operations and player development for the Northeast Academy program moving forward.
Bonicontro is a former Boston Bolts player that represents the mission of the club and is a role model for future generations of Bolts players. Bruno was part of the U17 United States Youth National Team growing up and played overseas for five years following a decorated collegiate career at UMass Lowell where he was selected as an All-American.
Bruno now specializes in coaching ball mastery and the intricacies of the game, having founded FC Flair, a futsal club that recently won a record-setting nine USYF Northeast Regional Futsal Championships in 2022.
"Bruno already has a lot of experience in youth development," said Sporting Director Marco Koolman. "His professionalism and proactive mindset fits well with our Bolts culture. We're excited to have him teach the game to young Bolts players and lead our Northeast Academy program."
Bruno was born in the United States before moving to Brazil at 3 months old. He moved back to the country at the age of 13 and played high school soccer at Marlborough High School. As injuries started to take a toll, Bonicontro transitioned into coaching Futsal and Soccer. He recently completed his USSF C License.
