Alumni Spotlight - Edi Mujan
Players who make it to the pro level are not always the one’s who stand out in youth soccer. More often than not, they are the ones who do the simple things exceptionally well, and are consistent in their dedication to their craft. Edi Mujan is that type of player.
Edi is gearing up for his second season with Michigan Stars FC in the NISA league. He had a immediate impact at the club in his first season, making 11 appearances and scoring two goals as a midfielder and defender.
Edi played four years for the Boston Bolts in the US Development Academy, and was an extremely consistent performer during his time with the club. Edi had ambitious goals for his soccer career, and backed it up with a lot of hard work and discipline year in and year out.
At the college level, Edi was a 3x Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipient at Holy Cross University. He made 49 appearances in his career, and was a leader of the back line for his final three seasons in particular. Edi also competed for the @bostonboltsusl2 squad during the summers of his time in college.
We’re excited to see him take another step forward in his career in 2022!
Check out the interview below for Edi’s advice for young Bolts players.

What was your favorite part about being a member of the Boston Bolts?
“My favorite part was always being in high quality training sessions where I was improving my game everyday. “
What piece of advice would you give young Bolts players who dream of pursuing college and professional careers?
Discipline. It’s a huge characteristic trait that is needed to succeed. Training outside of team training is very important, as well as surrounding yourself with like-minded friends who are on the same path as you.
What would you consider the most important attribute for professional soccer players?
"The higher up you get in the professional game, less mistakes occur. I would say the most important attribute is decision making and execution."
How can young players handle adversity and how have you approached challenges throughout your playing career?
"I always believed that as long as I focused on what I can control, everything else would take care of itself. How I train, how much I train, my attitude/mentality, my diet, etc. were all key components of slowly working my way up the ladder."
