Greig Robertson Named Boston Bolts Director of Coaching
BOSTON - The Boston Bolts announced the hiring of Greig Robertson as Director of Coaching on December 12, 2021. With 19 years of experience at Celtic Football Club, Robertson joins the Bolts with a proven track record of youth development.
"Appointing Greig as our Director of Coaching is part of our strategic plan for the Bolts," said Sporting Director Marco Koolman. "His experience, knowledge and expertise will benefit all of our coaches and players in the Bolts organization. We are excited to welcome Greig to our Bolts coaching staff."
Robertson will oversee all aspects of coaching development, with a focus on guiding the club’s coaching methodology. His responsibilities will also include coaching the U-15 and U-19 Bolts MLS Next Academy teams.
Robertson’s coaching and management experience gained from overseeing various community and youth development programs as well as former roles as a first team analyst and U-18 Coach for Celtic Football Club will be a great addition to the Boston Bolts leadership team.
“I have known Greig for over 10 years,” CEO Brian Ainscough said. “We’ve always had him as a target to build on what the Bolts have done to date. For a young man he has a wealth of knowledge and he will help shape the future of our club moving forward. I can’t wait for him to get started. We are very fortunate to get a person of Greig’s pedigree."
A native of Scotland, Robertson is a UEFA Pro license candidate and has received his Master’s degree in Performance Coaching from Stirling University.
