Gabe Margolis Announced As USL League Two Head Coach
BOSTON - The Boston Bolts today announced Gabe Margolis has been named the head coach of the USL League Two team.
Coach Margolis has been involved with the Boston Bolts as both a player and coach for more than 30 years. Margolis played for the Boston Bolts from U9-U19 (1990-2000), winning state titles at the U16, U17 and U19 age groups. After graduating from Wheaton College in 2005, Margolis began coaching at Brandeis University in 2006 and with FC Greater Boston in 2007. Between 2007-2016 Coach Margolis was a coach with the U16 and U18 Boston Bolts Development Academy Teams, helping the 2009 team advance to the National Championships (finishing 5th).
"I am absolutely thrilled to be coming back to coach with the Boston Bolts,” Margolis said. “This club has been one of the biggest influences in my soccer life both as a youth player, and as a coach, and I cannot wait to get to work with the USL2 team as we look to compete for championships while developing players for their college careers and beyond."
“I am excited to see one of our own back with the Bolts family,” Boston Bolts Sporting Director Marco Koolman said. “Gabe has a long history in many capacities as a coach and administrator with the club. Gabe is a great coach with great leadership and management qualities we are looking for in a coach at the USL2 level. He relates very well with the college age player and will do very well with the group he is putting together.
Coach Margolis has continued to coach at Brandeis University, being named the Head Men's Soccer Coach in 2016. Margolis holds both his Advanced National (NSCAA) and USSF B license.
