24-hr marathon

The Boston Bolts host an annual 24-hour soccer marathon as a charity and fundraising event. Over the last 11 years Bolts have partnered with Making Strides against Breast Cancer, Special Olympics and now Mass General Hospital for Children fundraising for these great organizations. Thanks to our fantastic donors who have donated to these worthy causes!

Players from all Bolts teams will participate in the soccer marathon and proceeds will benefit both MGHfC Concussion Clinic and the Boston Bolts Scholarship Fund.  All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

2022 24HR SOCCER MARATHON LAUNCH

We are launching our annual fundraising campaign!

This year, the Bolts will host the 13th annual soccer marathon as a charity/fundraising event. This is our 13th annual event to raise funds for Mass General Hospital for Children Sports Concussion Clinic and the Bolts Scholarship Fund. Both are 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

This is a massive club-wide, Bolts community event. This year will be a little different as we won’t all be in one space. Due to COVID restrictions and to minimize travel for families, we are holding the event simultaneously at four regional locations to minimize risks and reduce numbers.

Locations include

  • · Western MA Region – Easthampton

    · Metro North – Lexington

    · Boston Region – Newton

    · South Shore Region – Weymouth

    · Central MA Region – Marlborough

Schedules will be shared with all teams next week in Playmetrics. This event will provide an opportunity for the Bolts players to contribute to their club and to the community, while doing what they do best -- playing soccer!! Bolts players will be matched up against one another, hourly, until games have been played for 24 hours!

Fundraising Goal: We ask each team to raise $500.

Each player & coach can set up a fundraising web page to share pictures & videos and a blog about themselves and the Bolts. Frontstream (formerly Firstgiving) is our partner for these player pages. It provides a simple way to share your page with your contacts through email and social media with a link to donate. Donors receive a receipt to ensure their donation is tax deductible.

Prizes: Team & individual prizes will be awarded. The team who raises the most: will earn a set of jerseys. The individual who raises the most: will receive a $500 gift card for NewBalance.com

We will also recognize top regional fundraisers with prizes.

Prizes include:

- Gifts from Soccer.com

- New Balance Merchandise

- and much more!

We hope each player, coach, staff, assistant coach will be present to take part in this fun filled club event! We will have soccer, music, prizes and lots of laughs.

********************************************

Massachusetts General Hospital for Children Sports Concussion Clinic is led by Dr. Grant Iverson. We are again sharing a portion of our proceeds from our largest fundraiser of the year, to support the valuable research and clinical work being done by this group. In addition, our partnership with MGH is an integral part of our club strategic goals to create a superb medical referral network to care for our own athletes!

This is a great club-wide, Boston Bolts community event. Every player, coach, staff, assistant coach will be present to take part in this fun-filled day (and night) with parents, siblings, alums all invited too! We will have music, prizes, special guest appearances, awards, photo ops and lots of laughs.

Since 2017, Bolts have raised over $100,000 to support Mass General Hospital
